What Season Is It Anyway?

Don’t be fooled it is neither Christmas nor winter. It is still autumn and a time to clean house.  We have entered the season of Advent a time to put our spiritual house in order.

Advent is the Latin word for “Coming.” The season of advent is about preparing for the coming of Christ. It is not yet Christmas but a time of anticipation.  As we prepare to celebrate the nativity of Jesus let’s not forget Advent.

Advent is a time of preparation.  A time to prepare our minds and hearts to receive Christ.  Advent is about that joyful anticipation we experience before a celebration.  There is often much work that has to be done to prepare for the celebration, but it is done with happy hearts.  May we all grow in Love this Advent season.

I’m curious to know your take on the difference between Advent prayer and preparation and Great Lenten prayer and preparation. Hope you discuss this in a future post.
